Texas Loses Third 4-star Dt In Less Than 24 Hours; Longview’s Za

On Tuesday night, a pair of four-star defensive tackles, Trey Lealaimatafao and Courtney Garnett, decommitted from the Longhorns in part because of coaching staff shakeups. According to ESPNs Damon Sayles, Texas lost its third four-star defensive tackle in Longviews Zacoven Henderson on Thursday, leaving them with no interior defensive linemen in the Class of 2014. Henderson has no yet commented on the report but did send out a tweet hinting that he was not happy with defensive tackles coach Bo Davis leaving Texas to take over as the defensive line coach at USC. Lealaimatafao and Garnett also said Davis departure played a major role in their decision. The 6-foot-1, 318-pound Semper Fidelis All-American originally committed to TCU in February before backing out in September. Henderson then committed to Texas on December 9 over Baylor and Texas Tech at a ceremony at his school. <br>Read more:

Texas high-speed rail study moving not so fast

Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx moved the project a few inches down the track Tuesday by announcing a three-way partnership that includes public and private dollars. "Today, Im proud to say that the Federal Railroad Administration , TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) and the Texas celebrity tape Central Railway have come to an agreement to prepare two environmental studies that will lay the groundwork for high-speed rail between Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston," Foxx said in a prepared statement at a speech in San Antonio Tuesday. "Of course, theres much more work to be done before the tracks can be bolted down. But were thrilled to see that our grant money is being leveraged by private funding. And its my hope that, through the cooperation of public and private sectors, we can one day link Texas major cities with state-of-the-art passenger rail." Transportation experts say Texas is the best potential market for high-speed rail because of its flat geography and the ability to connect two major metropolitan areas. Former English player Justin Fashanu, who played for Norwich and Nottingham Forest, was the first footballer to say openly that he was gay in 1990. He committed suicide eight years later at age 37. Swedish defender Anton Hysen came out in 2011. Athletes from other sports have also spoken about their sexuality. Last month, British Olympic diver Tom Daley said he was in a relationship with a man. Other high-profile gay athletes include former Wales rugby captain Gareth Thomas, English cricketer Steven Davies and former NBA players Jason Collins and John Amaechi. Former Germany soccer player Hitzlsperger says he is gay

Industry figures published Tuesday show that bituminous coal and lignite together contributed 45.5 percent of Germany's gross energy output in 2013, up from 44 percent the previous year. Environmentalists criticize the increasing use of coal, saying it is a "dirty" source because of the large amount of carbon dioxide released when it is burned. Heavily subsidized renewable sources such as wind, solar, biomass and hydropower also increased their contribution to 23.4 percent, up from 22.8 percent in 2012. California lawmakers consider changing standard for 'Made in the USA'

A proposed revision of the law, SB 661, would allow goods containing foreign-made parts to be advertised as "Made in America" or similar phrases -- as long as the parts cannot be found in the United States and as long as the foreign parts constitute a "negligible part" of the final product.
