Insight - Frankfurt Exchange's China Dream Turns To Nightmare -

On Monday, Ultrasonic said Wu had contacted the group's finance chief to say he would return to the company, along with the money. Ultrasonic's shares more than doubled to around 2.30 euros in Frankfurt on Monday, but were still more than 60 percent down from where they began last week. It was the third time that shares in a Chinese firm listed in Germany have collapsed amid accusations of wrongdoing. The Frankfurt Stock Exchange says it has rigorous listing standards to protect investors from fraud, but the scandals (visit site) suggest that in the drive to win Chinese listings in the face of tough competition from New York and London, officials in Frankfurt may not have fully appreciated the risks. MASERATI With little hope of any compensation from China, a member of German private investor lobby SdK has suggested investors should consider taking auditors and underwriting banks to court. The company's auditors declined to comment and Frankfurt-based brokerage BankM, lead manager in all three listings, or IPOs, said there was no way it could have known. "This is a total catastrophe," said Thomas Stewens, head of corporate strategy and communications for BankM, which staked its reputation in part on the Chinese listings. "It's unimaginable how this could come to pass." There were few signs that anything at Ultrasonic was amiss, Stewens told Reuters. "We were site web in China regularly, certainly go to website 20 times over the past few years, and we regularly checked production on site," he said. <br>More: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/insight-frankfurt-exchanges-china-dream-000955079.html

Germany Must Give Jurgen Klinsmann Credit If It Wins World Cup -

A title would be fitting because the Germans have easily been the tournament's best team, even before famously destroying Brazil 7-1 in the semifinals http://grayhgaq.sosblogs.com , and to raise the World Cup trophy would serve as the ultimate affirmation of a master plan devised 10 years ago to rejuvenate Die Nationalmannschaft. Jurgen Klinsmann's master plan. The United States head coach was the inspiration behind the complete overhaul of German soccer when he took over as manager of the national team in 2004. The flamboyant world-class striker who shunned the emotionless German mindset injected passion and brought new ideas to a rigid soccer system that had grown stagnant. The tectonic shift in soccer philosophy not only changed the way Germany played but also the way its players ate, drank, slept football by famously introducing nutrition, psychology and yoga to training regimens. Central to Klinsmann's blueprint, though, was the introduction of new blood. The Germans were runners-up at the 2002 World Cup, but the impetus for change came from dismal performances at the European Championships with back-to-back exits in the group stage in 2000 and 2004. So in came Klinsmann and a group of unproven youngsters that he, along with Loew as his top assistant, gradually shaped and molded into the anti-Germany an entertaining, risk-taking team that embraced attacking soccer and won back the German public with a third-place showing at the 2006 World Cup on home soil. Four World Cup rookies from that group are on the current Germany squad: captain and defender/midfielder Philipp Lahm, midfielder Bastian learn more Schweinsteiger, defender Per Mertesacker and forward Lukas Podolski . <br>More: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/germany-must-give-jurgen-klinsmann-credit-if-it-wins-world-cup-221505623.html

One-hour Workout: Hidden Speedwork Hill Repeats

This weeks run workout comes from Dave Sheanin, a coach for D3 Multisport ( D3multisport.com ) in Boulder, exercise Colo. This is a great early-season threshold builder and also a great taper workout, Sheanin says. Its actually speedwork, youre just doing it on a hill instead of a track. Its awesome because you get the mental discipline of pacing (build over 2 minsdont just blast out of the gate) and the physiological benefit of threshold work without going above threshold (so your legs shouldnt be trashed the next day). Warm-up 15 min easy, including a few 3045 sec pickups. End warm-up at a hill with 24% grade (not too steep). Main Set 610 x 2 min hard but not all-out pace. Build to threshold (or just above) but do no over-run! <br>Full story: http://triathlon.competitor.com/2014/07/training/one-hour-workout-hidden-speedwork-hill-repeats_102243
